WWII Battle Reenactment

Don’t Miss the WWII Battle Re-enactment Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. presented by The Road to Victory Military Museum.

The re-enactors are all volunteers who are either amateur or professional historians. The younger ones are members of the Road to Victory Military Museum’s 804th Venture Crew.

Air Show 1 Day Pass

This group of young men and women aged 14-20 are interested in WWII re-enacting. In partnership with the Boy Scouts of America this Venture Crew primarily re-enacts the 4th Armored Division along with elements from the 101st Airborne and 761st Tankers unit.

The WWII reenactors you are witnessing at the Stuart Air Show come from many different states and are dedicated to the study, education and preservation of WWII history through interpretive living history displays, battle re-enactments and the restoration of military vehicles. The battle scenario depicted today represents the 101st efforts to engage and subdue the German objective with what resources they had left from their D-Day operations.

The ‘Screaming Eagles’ 101st airborne troops are given the task to search out and destroy the German gun batteries, a difficult task made even harder by the fact that many of these batteries were mobile, well fortified and well camouflaged. As the Germans barrage the beachhead, the 101st manages to locate one such position, but the Germans won’t surrender without a merciless fight.
Air Show 1 Day Pass
If the 101st are unable to destroy the cannon, they must keep the Germans from relocating or until reinforcements arrive. They are not called the ‘Screaming Eagles’ for nothing, exhausted but still full of resolve the 101st manage to hold the Germans in place until other Allied units move in to overwhelm and subdue the German oppressors.
